Request Account Deletion

Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to your contribution history, group memberships, and any pending payouts. Please ensure you have withdrawn all funds before proceeding.

How to Delete Your Account

To request the deletion of your ChopUp account and associated data, please follow these steps:

  1. Email Support: Send an email to support@chopup.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
  2. Include Details: In the email body, please include:
    • The email address or phone number associated with your account
    • Your wallet address (if available)
    • A brief statement confirming you wish to delete your account
  3. Verification: Our support team may contact you to verify your identity before processing the deletion request to prevent unauthorized removal of accounts.

What Data Will Be Deleted?

  • Personal Profile: Your name, email, phone number, and profile photo.
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials and linked social accounts.
  • Device Data: Push notification tokens and device identifiers.
  • Local App Data: Cached data stored on your device (will be cleared when you uninstall the app).

Data Retention

Some data may be retained for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes, including:

  • Transaction History: Financial records required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Blockchain Data: Transactions recorded on the public blockchain cannot be deleted as they are immutable.
  • KYC Records: Identity verification documents may be retained as required by anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.

Processing Time

We aim to process all account deletion requests within 30 days of receiving a verified request. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
